Quick Care Guide for Your Dubia Roaches
Housing: Keep your roaches in a smooth-sided container (like a plastic storage tub) to prevent them from climbing out. A well-ventilated lid is essential.
Substrate: No substrate is needed! This makes cleaning easy and prevents mold.
Hiding Spots: Stack egg crates vertically inside the container to give your roaches plenty of surfaces to climb and hide on. This also maximizes space.
Food: Gut-load your roaches with nutritious foods before feeding them to your pet. Offer a mix of fresh fruits and vegetables (carrots, sweet potatoes, apples) and a high-quality commercial roach chow.
Water: Provide water crystals or water-rich foods. Do not use a water dish, as the roaches will drown.
Temperature: Dubia roaches can be kept at room temperature, but a warmer environment (70-90°F) will encourage growth. Avoid temperatures below 50°F.
