Reptile Deli Dwarf White Isopods: The Ultimate Micro-Cleaners & Bioactive Booster!

Introducing Reptile Deli Dwarf White Isopods, the tiny but mighty heroes of your bioactive terrarium! These minuscule crustaceans, scientifically known as Trichorhina tomentosa, are a foundational and essential component for a truly thriving, self-sustaining ecosystem. With their nearly invisible size and relentless work ethic, they are the stealthy secret to a healthy, balanced, and mold-free habitat.

Why choose Reptile Deli Dwarf White Isopods?

  • Exceptional Micro-Cleanup Crew: These isopods are the undisputed champions of the microscopic world! They specialize in consuming mold, fungi, decaying organic matter, and other waste that larger isopods might miss, effectively sanitizing the substrate from the ground up.

  • Essential Bioactive Component: Dwarf White Isopods are a non-negotiable part of any successful bioactive setup. Their small size allows them to burrow deep into the substrate, aerating the soil and cycling nutrients, which is crucial for plant health and overall ecosystem stability.

  • Perfect for Delicate Habitats: Due to their small size, they are ideal for enclosures with smaller or more delicate animals, such as dart frogs, tiny gecko species, and various invertebrates. They won't disturb the inhabitants and provide a constant, low-level food source without being an overwhelming presence.

  • Hardy and Prolific: Dwarf White Isopods are extremely hardy and reproduce asexually, allowing for a rapid and stable population boom. This ensures a continuous and self-sustaining colony that will work tirelessly to keep your enclosure pristine.

  • Stealthy & Non-Intrusive: Their small size means they primarily live within the substrate, making them perfect for owners who want the benefits of a cleanup crew without the visible presence of larger isopods. They are the perfect behind-the-scenes workers.

Complete your bioactive setup and support your new colony with these top-quality products:

  • Reptile Deli Springtails: The perfect partner for your isopods! Springtails work on a micro-level, cleaning up mold and detritus that isopods might miss, creating the ultimate cleanup crew synergy.

  • Reptile Deli Bioactive Substrate: A specially formulated blend of organic materials that provides the perfect home for your isopods and plants, promoting healthy soil and a thriving ecosystem.

  • Reptile Deli Isopod & Springtail Food: A nutritious, all-in-one food mix that ensures your cleanup crew is healthy, happy, and multiplying rapidly. This supplement helps them thrive when there isn't enough decaying matter in the enclosure.

  • Reptile Deli Cork Bark & Leaf Litter: Essential for providing your isopods with shelter, moisture retention, and a natural food source. They love to hide and forage beneath these natural materials.

[Quick Care Guide]

  1. Housing: A small container (like a shoebox-sized plastic tub) with good ventilation works well. Use a bioactive substrate as a base.
  2.  Substrate: We recommend our BIO MIX, but if you would like to make your own,  mix of coconut coir, compost, and sphagnum moss is ideal. Keep one side of the substrate moist and allow the other to be slightly drier.
  3. Temperature & Humidity: Maintain a temperature between 68-78°F (20-25°C). Keep humidity moderate, providing a humid hide with wet sphagnum moss.
  4.  Food: Offer a varied diet of decaying leaf litter, soft rotting wood, and occasional supplements like Reptile Deli Isopod & Springtail Food, fresh vegetables (like carrots or zucchini), and calcium powder.
  5. Maintenance: Mist the moist side of the enclosure as needed to prevent it from drying out. Replenish food sources and leaf litter every few weeks. With proper care, your colony will flourish!
